I Walk Alone

16 Feb

I wrote this poem earlier today after a difficult weekend. The Lord knows…

I Walk Alone

I am a voice crying in the wilderness.
“Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”
I am one who walks alongside you to encourage, strengthen and carry you to God in prayer.
I am the one who edifies, prophesies and identifies the need.
And yet I walk alone.
I am without a seed, without a life inside this womb.
“When Lord will it be my turn?”
“Continue, my child, in the place that you’re in.”
I feel the eyes, see the glares and sense the suspicions.
Every time I see her, they say, she’s always alone…
Not many have been called to bear this cross, but bear it I must.
And do so without complaint.
“God help me to remain steadfast and hopeful in the place that I’m in.”
I walk alone.

Welcome Back

5 Feb

Welcome back is more of a sentiment to myself than it is to you the reader.  Each year I, along with so many others, promise to change this behavior, improve in another area and the promises go on and on.  The one thing I’ve found myself lacking in is my writing ministry.  I use the word “ministry” because I don’t write purely for entertainment purposes.  I feel in my heart that it is something I’ve truly been called of the Lord to do.  Unfortunately I’ve taken it lightly throughout the years.  Prayerfully this will no longer be the case.  So here I am writing in a blog that I’ve avoided for quite some time.  It won’t be ignored any longer.  It feels good to be back.
