The Single Believer

Never again will I cause You so much hurt.

Never again will I be the source of such contention.

Never again, dear God, will I speak such untruth to the one I love so dearly.

Never will I experience the disappointment of knowing that You are not pleased.

Nor will I be in a place of such comfort and ease.

You are my heart’s desire.

My hope for a greater tomorrow.

From this point on a purity of heart is what I seek.

Use me as Your vessel.

It is Your will that I seek.

There are reasons for sadness

Reasons for somberness

Reasons for everything that is

Reasons for joy

Reasons for peace

There are even reasons for love and being

But why is it that when one hurts others can barely see?

What are the reasons for you not seeing me?

Can you see my hurt?

Can you feel my pain?

Can you hear the cry coming from deep within?

Look past the surface and tell me what do you see?

A greater level is finally breaking free.

I’ve shed the outer exterior of what you may think of me.

I am who I am and I’m finally able to see

That my reason for being has come with a price

But I’ve paid the cost with a great sacrifice.

Have your way Lord God.

To You be all praise, glory and honor.

Use me as You will

I will no longer hunger.

Nor will I thirst for anything either.

I am an empty vessel to be used by You.

I am as is said finally, finally free.

You are my reason.
