This morning during my devotional time I sneezed so many times that it reminded me of the woman in the old testament whose son had died and the Prophet the Lord used to bring him back to life. Read 2 Kings chapter 4 for the story. As I read this the Father gave me a word about turning things around that have occured in my own life over the past year or so. This video serves as a confirmation not only for me, but for everyone who has been last according to the world’s definition of “last.” Be blessed!

Have you ever wondered what on earth the Lord has you here for? Today, as I read the story of Noah in the book of Genesis I asked this question of myself. Quite often when I am in prayer the Spirit of the Lord speaks the following words to me “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness prepare ye the way of the Lord.” This is in reference to John the Baptist, but I didn’t know what it had to do with me. Today I decided to ask and quite honestly, as a prophet of the Lord, I received much more than I expected. I won’t go into details, but more than a few questions were answered and for that I am thankful.

So… What about you? What has the Lord been speaking into your spirit? And if He hasn’t been speaking ask yourself this. Do I really know Him and/or is sin blocking my ability to hear? If you would like to know Jesus as Lord click on the above tab “an invitation.” I’d love to hear from you.

Stress and Anxiety

Earlier today I wrote a blog entry of the same title on sparkpeople.com. The purpose was to hold myself accountable in my goal of going to the gym each weeknight in order to alleviate the stress and anxiety that is in my life. Doing so was very helpful as 7pm neared. My designated time. Not only had I posted this information, but immediately received two responses from others in the same circumstances. Both appreciating the topic as well as the idea.

So… What in the world does this have to do with being single? Everything! How often do we hold ourselves accountable to those we trust? How often are we left to struggle with our own vices because we are too proud or too afraid to trust? Isn’t it time to re-evaluate our method and manner of doing things? Especially if its not working. Consider this, what do you have to lose? Be blessed.

How is it that towards the end of the year we become more reflective and yet no sooner than the new year begins we completely forget about our previous thoughts and begin establishing new goals? So the question is “have you accomplished what you purposed to do for this year?” If not why set new goals? Stay focused and prayerfully ask the Lord to “establish the work of your hands” according to His word in Psalm 90:17. Why? Why is it necessary to not proceed without having completed what you set out to do in the first place? The reason is simple: CONSISTENCY. Little progress is made in our lives if we do not proceed in the goals we set. Financial, Social, Educational, Physical and most importantly Spiritual. So…if need be stay put, change your dates and dig your heels in. By the way be encouraged that you had the guts to stay the course. Be blessed.

Worry, Worry, Worry!

As Christians we are, unfortunately, faced with the same concerns the rest of the world face. Finances, job lay-offs, the children and their Christmas wishes, forclosures and the list could honestly go on and on. But… As single believers in Christ we could easlily add marriage, courtship, children (or the lack thereof) and everything else that we must deal with while not being married. What we must realize is that as believers in Christ our solution is not that of the world. While their natural inclination is to worry, ours should be to seek the Lord and choose to walk by faith. For only then will we live in a manner that pleases God.

The Voice Magazine has been around for quite some time, but I’m only now at the place where I am personally able to enjoy it. Looking Back

As we approach the end of the year I was forced to analyze whether or not I had achieved the goals that I had set for myself and the beginning of the year. Unfortunately I came up short which is very frustrating since last year I did very well in this area. However, therein may be the problem. Could it be that my success in completing last years goals have caused me to let down my guard for the year 2009? I believe so. Don’t get me wrong there are a few smaller goals that I set for this year and did very well in achieving them. Enrolling in pilates, learning to swim and most of all becoming more involved in my personal writing. I submitted two articles over the summer for publication. A huge step for me. But there is one goal that still alludes me. So the question is do I continue and work towards this goal in the coming year or leave it uncompleted here in 2009?

Personally I really don’t think the latter is an option. I would have liked to be beyond this point in order to focus on other goals for 2010. So although it may be required of me to put forth more effort next year, God willing, I believe it will be worth it. So tell me… What are your goals for the coming year? Isn’t it time to give it some serious consideration?

A Grateful Heart

As we move into the season of the holidays I often find myself searching for meaning and sadly coming up empty. True I understand the purpose of Thanksgiving, but it gets lost in the meal planning and preparations. Between the football games and Law & Order Marathons (I prefer the latter) I never quite get to the place of truly spending that day focusing on having a heart of thanksgiving. Oddly enough I don’t spend time grieving over this fact because the word of God says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in all things we are to give thanks. I learned and developed a habit and attitude of gratitude quite some time ago for no other reason than because we should give thanks everyday and most of all for those little things. Did you get a good park in front of the store? Did the cashier “just happen” to open a new register when you got in line? Be thankful. These days with so many hurting people it is important to maintain a thankful heart in all things. Happy Thanksgiving!

Never Again
